Luis Diestre is a Full Professor at IE Business School. He received his PhD in Strategic Management from the University of Southern California in 2009. His research interests revolve around two distinct topics: non-market strategy and R&D activities in the Biopharmaceutical industry. Diestre’s work appears in publications such as the Academy of Management Journal, the Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Management Science, the Journal of Management Studies, and Research Policy. He was awarded in 2016 an ERC Starting Grant of about 1.4 million euros to develop a research project on the illegal trade of pharmaceutical drugs. In addition, Luis was included in Poets and Quants’ 2015 list of “The World’s Best 40 Under 40 Business School Professors”. He has been a member of the Editorial Review Board of the Academy of Management Journal (since 2010) and the Strategic Management Journal (since 2014). Currently he serves as an Associate Editor of the Academy of Management Journal.

ANTONELLA FAZIO

Antonella studied Economics (BA and MA). She completed her PhD in History and Civilization at the European University Institute focusing on economic history. Before working at IE, she joined the European Parliament within the Robert Schuman traineeship program. Previously, she has worked as economic advisor at the City Council of Bogota as well as in Milieu, an EU Legal Consultancy based in Brussels. She has also been a postdoctoral researcher in the department of Economics of the Universidad de los Andes and at SMAG and CriDIS at Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL – Belgium), and has been a teacher in economics.  Antonella has a special interest in empirical research and quantitative methods. Her research interest includes political and social economy, development and economic and business history.

YASSER FUENTES

Yasser Fuentes achieved his PhD in Physics in 2019 at the National Spanish Research Council (CSIC), previously he achieved his diploma in Advanced Expert in Development of Computer Applications in 2009. With a strong IT and mathematical background, Yass is a Data Scientist with high interest and natural curiosity for data: from raw input to analysis. He has great passion for translating everyday activities into insights to understand how things work and what can be done about them. He also is a quick learner imbued with good mood!
